The Maia Project: Bringing Clean Water to the Children of Palestine

This project began when the Student Parliament at the UN Boys School in Bureij Refugee Camp, Gaza were given the opportunity to choose one thing they most wanted for their school: They chose to have clean drinking water. MECA's partner in Gaza heard about this vote and, after meeting with representatives from the school and the Student Parliament, came to MECA to see if we could respond to the childrenís request for drinking water. MECA provided the funds to build a water purification and desalination unit for the school in 2007.

MECA is working in partnership with community organizations in Gaza to build water purification and desalination units in schools throughout the Gaza Strip.

Rohingya Relief Fund for Clean Water

Connecther aims to raise enough funds to create 50 new tubewells In partnership with a local NGO who will install them.

Conditions at the Cox's Bazar Rohingya refugee camp is heart breaking to witness. The number of people coming in on a daily basis are exceeding the number of resources available. There arenít enough toilets available so some people have been digging holes into the ground in order to make make-shift toilets and drinking from dirty water sources. Immediate assistance is required in order to get over this travesty. Connecther will start fund raising, so we can install more tubewell and latrines at the camps with the help of a local NGO. Our South Asia director who has been working at the camps will personally visit when the installation process begins, to make sure your donation is going in the right place. Kids are getting sick from this scorching heat, lack of clean water and sanitation. Please come forward to help, they do urgently need your help and assistance.
