The Edna Adan Hospital Foundation is delighted to continue collaborative efforts with Connecther in promoting education and training for women in Somaliland. This project will allow two female physicians in Somaliland to pursue crucial specialized training at an internationally recognized university in Sudan. Goals for this project are to 1)provide training for young obstetricians in research and medical education in obstetrics gynecology AND 2)train candidates to be at the cutting edge of research and clinical surgery.

Training will take place at the internationally recognized University of Medical Science & Technology, Faculty of Medicine, Omdurman Maternity Hospital. The Faculty is one of Omdurman's Islamic University Faculties. It is a member of the Union of Arab Universities and the African Union of Universities. The Faculty is also an active member of the League of Sudanese Medical Faculties and the League of Arab Faculties of Medicine. The faculty is registered in WHO East Mediterranean. Alumni of this Faculty are either working or receiving training in many countries such as the UK, Ireland, the USA, Netherlands, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Somalia, Nigeria, Cameroon and many Gulf Countries.
