ConnectHER’s Educate a Girl Program
Keep girls in school and give them a chance for a brilliant future.
Each morning when you see children heading to school, take a moment to think about the 130 million girls around the world who are not in school. We were inspired to create our Educate a Girl program when we heard the story of one such girl, the subject of the Pooja Khati’s film Asma.
Many of our scholarship recipients are in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan—countries that are “facing persistent challenges in gender equality in education,” according to the report Equal Measures 2030: Harnessing the Power of Data for Gender Equality. We are also working with a new partner, Generation Epanouie in DR Congo, to provide scholarships for bright students whose parents are unable to pay their school fees. ConnectHER donors are some of the smartest kids in the class, so we don’t need to tell you how education transforms girls’ lives, resulting in delayed marriages, fewer and healthier children, and higher incomes.
