Winter Survival Kits For Gaza
ConnectHER partners with Sanabel, a Gazan-led initiative, to source and distribute essential items from local markets in Gaza. This approach ensures direct relief while supporting the local economy, making a sustainable impact in the community.
For many, winter is a time of warmth, family, and holiday cheer. But for the people of Gaza, winter brings fear and hardship—something they desperately wish would never come.
In Gaza, 90% of the population is displaced and homeless, living in makeshift plastic tents that offer no protection from the bitter cold or the constant threat of rainwater flooding their shelters. Families are forced to endure the harshest conditions—sleeping on dirt floors covered with only thin nylon and light blankets, with no bedding or heating to shield them from the winter’s chill. Imagine facing these conditions without a thick thermal coat or a warm blanket. Imagine your home, a fragile tent, swaying in fierce winds without a sturdy tarp to shield you. ConnectHER partners with Sanabel, a Gazan-led team. Items are purchased from functional markets on the ground and distributed.
On top of this, 4,000 pregnant women are expected to give birth very soon, bringing newborns into an environment with little warmth or protection. These mothers are facing the impossible task of preparing for childbirth and caring for their infants in freezing, inadequate shelters.
1.9 million people are enduring these dire conditions.
