Connecther Presents:

Submission deadline is January 31, 2020 at 11:59 pm - Submit your films about girls education, particularly films about the 62 million girls who currently don't have access to education.

Girls Impact the World (#GITW) & #LetGirlsLearn Prize for Girl's Education:

Inspired by Let Girls Learn, Connecther and the Girls Impact the World (GITW) Film Festival will raise awareness in communities worldwide about access to girls education and schooling in the developing world, including through the development of films focused on adolescent girls education. Today, there are many global barriers – infrastructure, technology, learning materials, and basic supplies.

In honor of International Women's Day 2016, Connecther is launching the Girls Impact the World (GITW) Global Chapters. Our chapters around the world will screen short films from the Girls Impact the World Film Festival--3 to 6 minute films about such subjects as the education of girls, economic independence for girls, redefining beauty and other critical issues. Inspired by Let Girls Learn, each screening will include a session about girl's education.

In addition, Connecther & Girls Impact the World Film Festival is proud to announce and award the Let Girls Learn prize, an award that will help drive forward government focus, funds and access to education to all, particularly the 62 million girls who don’t have access to education today.

About Let Girls Learn: President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are championing efforts to help adolescent girls around the globe attend and complete school through the Let Girls Learn initiative, which will build upon the public engagement campaign the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) launched last summer. Let Girls Learn is a government-wide effort that will leverage the investments we have made and success we have achieved in global primary school, and expand them to help adolescent girls complete their education. #Let Girls Learn
