ConnectHER Film Screening – NYC
Our ConnectHER Film Screening was an intimate gathering at the NYC Chai Spot where we enjoyed delicious snacks and chai while watching short films from accomplished women filmmakers and ConnectHER Film Festival award winners Amanda Gordon, Tapiwa Gambura and Amanda Camos. The engaged audience asked questions and heard from the filmmakers about how they use storytelling to create social change. All were inspired by these young women who are embracing the intersection between storytelling and social change in order to create a more equitable future.
"It was an amazing opportunity to connect with talented filmmakers and have a platform to share my work in person."
—Amanda Gordon
"It was such a joy to meet everyone in person and to share a platform with filmmakers whose work I'm so excited about. It was also lovely to feel seen and heard and to bring stories from Harare right to the heart of NYC. I never expected my films to get here so it was very surreal that they did."
—Tapiwa Gambura
"I truly felt inspired to keep pursuing my film career after hearing how impactful ConnectHER is to so many people. Women in film will continue to flourish and I'm so proud to be a part of this movement!"
—Amanda Camos
