Screening for Gaza
We are so proud to be presenting Gaza’s Eyes: While the World is watching Gaza, Gaza is watching the World in partnership with Austin Film Society on Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30 pm.
In 2023, the ConnectHER Film Festival received submissions from 24 countries — six of those films were from filmmakers in Gaza. Through this screening, we want to share these films as a window into what Gaza looked like just months ago; what the potential and hopes of these Palestinian young people were when they made their films. We will be hearing directly (and virtually) from ConnectHER filmmakers about how they are persisting with telling stories and making films while also responding to the needs around them in a time of unspeakable tragedy. We are also excited to welcome special guest Alana Hadid, founder of Watermelon Pictures, after the screening, to discuss what is being done in and for Gaza.
Please join us for this night in solidarity with Palestine.
